Fred Biancardi
Fred Biancardi is a Staff Research Associate at UCSF, where he applies his expertise in molecular cloning, genome assembly, and transgenic mouse models to support research in aging biology. He earned his B.S. in Biomolecular Engineering & Bioinformatics from UC Santa Cruz, where he worked on metagenomics and environmental toxicology, investigating how lichen interacts with methylmercury contamination.
With a strong background in statistical modeling, genome sequencing, and molecular biology, Fred enjoys tackling complex biological questions with both computational and wet-lab approaches.
Outside the lab, he channels his creativity into music, performing as an independent musician while also working in audio-visual production.
Whether he’s running PCRs, analyzing genomes, or making music, Fred is always exploring new ways to bridge science and creativity.
